Pilotin Island, Vanuatu -$1,109,000 USD

The goal of this blog is to raise funds to purchase a huge island in hopes of creating a utopia for select members and investors. The members might be selected by lottery, that will be determined in the future if this turns out well. The Island above is listed at $1,100,000 AUD, nearly $1,109,000 USD. The price for the 335 acres is very cheap compared to other islands with the same land mass. The Utopia will consist of everyone having the freedom of building their own home, working equally in a community to help one-another succeed, and to enrich each other`s lives. 335 Acres should provide around 300 adults the opportunity to live in cohabitation. The adults living on the island wouldn`t be required to participate with the other members, but it would defeat the whole purpose of living on it. If 300 people were to live on the island, the price to get them there would be roughly $3700 each, not including items they would want to bring with them.

  1. LOL....I've been seeking this Utopian way of life for many years, and I kinda like this blog site approach....Where are you from? I have many contacts and interested people who share your vision.

  2. I've had this idea for a while and I wanted to buy this island as well! I came across this blog on google when I was trying to find pictures of this to show a member of my little "group" I'm getting together of people I'm bringing with me and I was wondering if perhaps you would join us? Not only will it be a perfect community, but it'd be enclosed to be completely apocalypse-proof in the event of one, though i personally doubt it. We have the government/law pretty much complete, we're going to be completely independent, and only invited people will be let in. You can email me at under72hours@gmail.com, my public/buisness/other email for more on our ideals and then decide if you want to kind of merge with us or something. Thanks! /Kib

  3. Interesting post.
I was on Pilotin Island with Warren from First National Real Estate when the photos above were taken. I am also looking at purchasing it and will be down there again in October. I have a couple of parties interested in going in with me but looking for a few more.
Riley, I like your idea, but the island would have a hard time supporting 30 people little own 300. You would have to be importing a lots of food, and were is all the waste going to go? The north, east and southern coasts are rocky with 10, 20 and 30 meter cliffs. If you look on google earth, the areas that have not been planted with coconuts are pretty much unable to be farmed, which is half the island. Fresh water is stored in the island itself. Because the substructure is mainly coral salt water has seeped in, and the fresh water sits on top of it. Pretty cool! Natural reservoir. I like Ted's idea of being independent. For that you need areas for animals to graze, and areas to farm. The soil is great but, you will have to work around the rocks.

If you want to stay more than 4 month of a year the following will apply

    Residence Permits

Pursuant to the provisions of Part II, Section 3, Subsections (2) & (3) of the Immigration Act ( cap.66).

Standard Residence Permits are issued initially for a duration of 1 year subject to annual renewal. The non-refundable application fee of Vt20,000 is payable to the Immigration Office upon submission of the completed application form.

Residence Permits may also be issued to potential investors who wish to undertake businesses in the country. The potential Investors must first obtain an approval for such business from the Vanuatu Investment Promotion Authority Board (VIPA).

Residence Permits are normally issued for one year in the first instance but may be renewed provided that the conditions under which they were first issued remain the same.

    Long Term Permits

The following fees apply to long term residences when applying for an 'investor status' residence permit:

Investment Value Residency Permit Total RP Fees Required

    5,000,000 VT 5 Years 130,000 VT

    50,000,000 VT 10 Years 230,000 VT

    100,000,000 VT 15 Years 330,000 VT

All fees are payable in advance and are not refundable if the permit is granted. In the first year VT50,000 is charged while VT20,000 is charged for each subsequent year. In accordance with the Immigration Act, all investors are subject to the VT5 million minimum investment requirement.

I hope this information about the island is useful
